Open Day – January 2016
This month was the U3A Annual Open Day with the dual intention of attracting NEW members and the showcasing of Interest Groups to existing members. Burnham Mayor Ron Pratt and MP Rt. Hon. John Whittingdale were there for interest and support.

The following five pictures were taken by Alan Dorrill at the August 2015 Garden Party. He took quite a few so if you would like to see the remainder and maybe order some prints please contact him.
Remembrance Day 2014
Dr Johnson’s House
On the last day of October 2014 a small group of us embarked on one of Beth Greaves never dull trips. It was a shame that more people didn’t attend but then Beth always did go for quality over quantity. [There’s my dig – where were you all!]
This is more of a photographic record than a written account – the words will be few and the pictures will be many!
It was half-term so the trains were pretty full but luckily not everybody appeared to be going where we were going, and as for the weather – it was absolutely blooming marvellous!
Setting off down Fleet Street en route to Doctor Johnson’s house we first called in at the Temple Church:
Leaving the church and proceeding further down Fleet Street we encountered a drinking fountain – although I am not sure that I would wish to drink from this one, and some reminders of the Street’s past.
Finally we made it to Doctor Johnson’s House:
And a look in St Bride’s Church (one of Wren’s) before heading for the bus and train:
In all an excellent day and many thanks to Beth. We even managed to get a connecting train back to Burnham!

I think nearly everyone is in here somewhere (some more than others!). DG
