The newly formed Walking Group had its’ inaugural walk on the 25th March. Nine people met on this cool morning, which later turned into a sunny and warm spring day. After a bus ride to Southminster the group walked back to Burnham riverfront over fields and along a few quiet lanes.
The route passed through a small nature reserve and climbed up to what might be called in the Dengie, a mountain. It is surprising on the Dengie to find such an extensive view. Further on we passed the end of the line of the Mangapps Railway Museum and continued south to Burnham. Several shortened the 4.5-mile walk leaving at various stages suitable to them whilst five continued on to the Victoria Inn for lunch.
