Not quite a full complement at this meeting – one on holiday, one indisposed – but we were still presented with a variety of pictures to be scrutinised (in the nicest possible way, of course!). Most people admitted that they had drawn from their existing collections rather than taken anything new but then the weather has been pretty diabolical of late (oh dear, are we all fair weather photographers?).
The current on-going project is ‘Portraiture’ and Frances and Ken D showed some excellent examples using natural light and flash. David had pictures of mainly bridges (including yet more (yawn) from his Californian period – but then he does have 2400 to choose from!) and we had further amazing close-ups of insects, and some very good woodland scenes, from Ken C.
Alan, our group leader, bucked the trend by showing some pictures of his that he wasn’t very happy with, asking us to comment on them to see if our criticisms agreed with his own. Not surprisingly this open opportunity was seized upon with great relish!
Furthering the ‘Portraiture’ theme Alan suggested that for our next meeting on the 11th February we should come prepared to have our portrait taken by other members of the group – at the meeting. We could then E-mail our results to each other.
