With some members still on extended holiday (hopefully taking loads of pictures!) and a couple of others unable to attend, it was a rather depleted group at this meeting. Two of us had committed the cardinal sin (the second actually – the first being ‘taking a camera on a day out without access to a spare battery’!) of running out of printer ink halfway into a printing session, so we were restricted on the number pictures we could show. We also discussed competing in the U3A National Photography Competition 2013 – ‘What makes Britain Great?’ deciding that the title was so ill conceived that any photograph submitted could fit the bill – it would rest purely on the judges’ interpretation of the word ‘Great’. It did, however, give someone the chance to slip into the conversation, very irreverently: ‘Who took the “Great” out of “Great Britain”?’ We will probably not be competing.
The next meeting will be on April 8th.
